afaik low-noise velcro exists - donât find any credible source, though.
But I found this small piece of velcro usage history:

It is very common on kids shoes. Also any clean styled motorcycle boot is gonna have velcro. Oh so much velcro in bike gear.

That may be my new winner. Itâs still fast, it lays right, and itâs crazy secure. It can get a little twisted while tying, but thatâs easy to fix. Itâs oddly asymmetrical, but thatâs what the cuff of your pants is for.
I like it a lot.
