This hits hard not only because my mother is very close to her age (2 weeks difference) but because Gal Costa was one of those rare artists that made my brain twist, and I have to admit I discovered her much later than I should have. I have four of her albums, including the first, which I listen to at the very least once a month.
RIP Maria. You have endured and allowed others to endure.
