Itâs nice to see Sony allow an openly LGBTQ main character in an animated family filmâŚyour move Disney.
(excerpt) Democratic state lawmakers said they will introduce legislation to offer California as a safe haven for parents in other states who risk having their transgender children taken away or from being criminally prosecuted for supporting their childrenâs access to gender-affirming procedures and other health care.
Disneyâs feeling the pressure.
some more good newsâŚ
Great work, Lia!
Also⌠these assholes can piss offâŚ
But not everyone was thrilled about her victory.
There were barely any cheers after she won, and some attendees held signs saying âSave Womenâs Sportsâ in the stands at the Georgia Tech facility protesting the swimmer who once swam for the menâs team for three seasons.

CW: sexual assault
I donât think I will ever stop being angry about how Lily Parr (and other women) was getting scouted by the big mens teams until the FA put segregation in place, or how she was sexually assaulted by creepy old men to prove that she was a woman (because she must really be a man to be that good at football).
100 years on and we have made no progress. Lily Parr would probably be told she has to take androgen blockers when she is in her teens, while trans girls the same age as her are denied them.
Sounds like a case of not wanting to commit state resources to defending the bill in court, but a win is a win.
He also admitted
after âthorough review,â his office found no evidence of any âexisting problem in K-12 sports in Indiana that requires further state government intervention.â
A Republican who does not like unnecessary government intervention in peopleâs lives for real? I thought that was just a myth.
A lot of them spout rhetoric about not interfering with family decisions and parent choice. But then they go calling medical care abuse.
Fuckers
This is pretty cool; after actor Elliot Page (formerly Ellen Page) came out as trans he was not only retained as one of the principal cast members in The Umbrella Academy but Netflix just announced that his characterâs name and identity has been changed from âVanya Hargreevesâ to âVictor Hargreeves.â Hard to imagine a major studio doing something like that even a decade ago.
The return of in-person awards shows has so far proven to be chaotic, euphoric, and queer as hell. Thereâs no reason to expect anything less from this Sundayâs Grammys, where a slew of LGBTQ+ artists are nominated for top awards and will perform on musicâs biggest stage. We would say âgird your loins,â but all eight of Lil Nas Xâs abs will be there, so youâve already done that.
Itâs no surprise that the alt category is absolutely dominated by queer women and nonbinary acts. Arlo Parks, Japanese Breakfast, Halsey, and St. Vincent are all facing off in the Best Alternative Music Album category, with the latter two likely facing off for the win. Whatever the outcome, it will be a triumph for edgy femmes and NBs rocking out to their own beats.
And for country fans, T.J. Osborne, who came out as gay in February, is nominated with the Osborne Brothers duo for Best Country Album. ⌠Heâll be competing against Brandy Clark, whose album Your Life Is a Record is also up for the award, shaping that category up to be a queer country showdown like no other.
Great! I just donât know if that counters all the other BS at the Grammys (Kanye, Marilyn Manson, Louis CK are all up for grammys).
Oh well, I donât pay attention to the Grammys anyway.
