Like an Irish Spring

I didn’t say MAKE soap.
I said BUY my wife’s soap.

I’ll just leave this here.

My soap of choice is Pears. Been using it for decades now, though the formula seems to have changed a little bit over time. It’s the only scented item I can stand to put on my body. I have occasional bouts of hyperosmia (extreme sensitivity to scents), but Pears doesn’t seem to disturb me like most other scents do.

I grew up using Zest, which also has the reputation of being a good deer repellent.

Doc Bronner’s comes in bars, too.

But; it’s more than twice the price, has packaging, AND palm oil (can’t get away from the the palm oil!). And (although it no longer says it on the website), I believe Soapworks is more local for me; they may be a Hamilton, Ontario company, and I’m in Toronto, so I want to support more local business.

Don’t get me wrong; I really like Dr. Bronner’s and have used it in the past. I like it’s latherability, and it rinses of very easily.

Would you feel more comfortable if it was RSPO certified sustainable palm oil? The soap we like uses that stuff. https://www.awildsoapbar.com
On the expensive side, but doesn’t leave a residue, isn’t drying, smells great, and lathers well. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
I think you can order the bars “naked”- no packaging

Interesting; I’ll look into it. Thanks!

What does soap residue look like? I’ve been using Irish Spring for years but haven’t noticed anything I would call soap residue. Or are you talking about excessive soap scent maybe?

Soap leaves a sticky film which won’t rinse away…

Weird. Maybe I’m just used to my sticky film that I don’t notice it. Or maybe it depends on water hardness or something.

No, Mr Pibb became a surgeon and is proud of earning their “mister”.

I don’t know how true that is. I was quoting from a once omnipresent commercial in the US.

He might have been Irish.

At least two people claimed that he was able to speak comprehensible English.

Or not.
