Luxury RPG dice set goes berserk on Kickstarter, raising over $1.66 million

I need more dice in the same way I need a perforated spleen for improved aerodynamics… but those are damn pretty

Shipping in august of 2021!

No thanks…

I think that the “Keep out of reach of Children”* warning applies to this jar for a couple of reasons that could involve the Accident & Emergency Department.

*Personally, I always try to keep out of reach of Children. They tend to be sticky and smell odd.

I like artisan and all, but are the dice balanced?

I especially love the eat shit (and) die.

Hey, kids working in a sweatshop in China over vats of toxic resin are artisans too!

RPGers are obsessed with unreadable, imbalanced dice. If you want to collect what amounts to plastic, play-gems, there’s always the Pretty Pretty Princess game.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

I’d just like to meet a D6 that didn’t fuck me over every single time. No other number of sides hates me anything other than randomly, but a D6? Oh yeah it hates me.

Even with what looks like a delivery fully 2 years from now (delivery date has changed), I don’t see how they can cover what looks like 15-50k sets of dice. This smells like another KS failure due to overwhelming demand.

Makes me slightly glad I don’t have time to P&P anymore or I might be tempted, 'cause they are purdy.

D&D, right?

An enterprising DM could transport their player’s butch, burly characters to My Little Pony land for the lulz :grinning:

So they aren’t balanced. That’s useful.

mass produced polyhedral dice that you buy at the game shop or what have you are notoriously also not balanced, especially if they don’t have sharp edges, which they won’t unless your FLGS carries Gamescience™ dice. There’s a reason that casinos all use sharp edged dice that they will retire after as little as 8 hours of play. These dice will probably not be noticeably less fair than the other dice you would pick up.

I suspect the appropriate answer is the question are you running a licensed gambling establishment or playing D&D.

I doubt they are perfectly balanced but they are probably balanced enough for some purposes. I could be wrong on either count.

To clarify a previous comment made - DD has not been showing these dice off for years, march 2019 is when they first appeared on the hand made dice scene.

What kind of licensed gambling establishment doesn’t have a decent set of D20, D12, etc?
