Lynx climbs up to get a better look at this human

Just saw what must have been a bobcat cub in the road in front of the house last night on my way home from work. I just sat there in the truck in the middle of the road just watching this little guy going back and forth like it was looking for something. After a bit it dropped down off the road into the field next to our house. Made me wonder if it’s mother was around. That question is all the more pertinent this evening as our little cat Squeaky has not come in yet, and I always get nervous when she gets her crazy eyes on and stays out late. Fingers crossed!

Well, it seems a certain walking carpet slipped past us and was hiding upstairs. Good thing it’s a nice night and the strolls around the property weren’t in the rain. I think she does things like this every once in a while to remind us who’s in charge.

Yeah, she looked hungry. But it’s good the human didn’t feed her and leave her with the wrong impression of a dependable food source that might take time from hunting.

Oh that describes it. So funny!

Not the impression I got, frankly.

I think she’s just a typical cat, everything in the world is some of her business and please be so good as not point out I kinda fell on my ass. Lets see you two legged freaks make a jump like this. Good kitty, silly, pretty, and very noble. A look from across the eons to the guy lucky enough to be there.

“… [He] walked back into the forest never to be seen again.” At which point, logging re-commenced, and continued destroying the home and ecology of the Lor-ynx. Unless, …

A lynx walks into a bar

The bartender says what’ll ya have?

The lynx says: … hmmm… ahhh…hmmm…I’ll have a beer

The bartender says: What’s with the big paws

Yeah, it’s never struck me before just how damn big they are, basically it’s got it’s own snowshoes!
What a stunning animal though, and what a privilege to be so close to one in a working environment.

Those paws! Wow. The lynx was unafraid, that’s for sure. Such a beautiful creature.

Me too. I think it’s the beard.

The beard and mane help, but for me it was the eyes and how casually observant it is. Its mannerisms are unlike the animals I usually see.

Not sure if that was oil (I hope not) or mud on her paws that made her slip when she tried to climb up. Her mouth was a bit open; she may have been trying for some elevation to catch a scent.
Lynx: Hm. Tree not easy to climb, no claw purchase… uff, damn! Slipped… Who is that nosy person looking at me? Nevermind. Nothin’ to see here, I’m bored, time to go…

Could it be it’s not full grown? I know some kittens have enormous paws compared to their body size, and have to grow into them. The Canada lynx below from Wikipedia has paws that seem more to scale:
