Lynx climbs up to get a better look at this human

I suspect kitteh hung around the machinery because warmth. A cold wind was obviously blowing. Yet another heat-seeking kitteh at a time when sunning thyself (solar cats, anyone?) was not sufficient. That’s my guess.

We’ve no snow yet in my locale so the pumas don’t leave tracks. They show up on nearby porch cams, however.

NB the book series that the movie that gif is from is based on is well worth reading.

Great minds, etc.

“Embarrassment grooming” is discussed in cat behavior/psychology books  So is the “inverted-U tail, especially in play.” 'Course, one’s tail must be much longer’n a lynx’s to make a playfully inverted U

No one mentioned the other guy in the distance who was also filming.

I think his presence explains why the lynx leaped from the tire to the snowbank.

I had never heard of the inverted u tail, which sent me down an enjoyable rabbit hole of cat behavior internet sites, culminating in this image. Kitten as Stephen Tyler:

That does indeed sound like a wonderful rabbit hole!

Shortly after I first read about the inverted U tail especially in play, two of our kittens chased each other up and down the hall with inverted U tails

Because we’re as silly as our cats, we always use the entire phrase, “Inverted U Tail Especially in Play.”
