I was going to say that it’s illegal to discharge firearms within 150 yards of a home, but that’s only in California, who knows about the other 49 states and other US regions.
I’ve got everything I need for several projects, except motivation. It’s just too nice outside.
Our neighborhood is too dense for anyone to be legally discharging a firearm. On the plus side it’s not my satellite dish; it’s from two or three tenants back but our landlords won’t take it down or let us take it down. At least this way we’re getting some entertainment out of it.
I feel like I should issue a challenge to you knitters and crocheters out there… How about you join me in a little hat-making for a good cause? Even just one! C’mon, you can do it!
I’m down for it. I’m a little confused though. I have no idea how to find a soft yarn that doesn’t have some amount of wool in it.
I have some acrylics that are really nice and comparatively soft but even the nicest ones aren’t anything nearly as soft as the acrylics that have a bit of wool in them.
Premier’s Everyday Worsted is surprisingly soft, and I’ve used Caron’s Simply Soft as well. Did you check the Halos of Hope recommended yarns page? There’s a pretty big selection!
Oh, I love cotton. I made this mini scarf in the round that I love wearing and I knit a holder for my 8mm DPNs in cotton so my DPNs would stop having adventures in my project bag (which is currently a duffle bag big enough to hold almost all of my yarn).
I wasn’t sure where it was shot from, so I didn’t know if you could stand one up or if you had to clamp it on to something. I also haven’t done any time lapses myself, but was thinking if you were in an area with any amount of “human traffic” you might have to get the camera up and away from where it could be disturbed.
Oh, there’s this huge footbridge, like 25 feet wide that goes behind the statue on the NJ side. The trick is to put your tripod somewhere you’re not going to disturb people.
Like traffic islands in the middle of Times Square.
Finally getting around to knitting socks after buying all the yarn for it toward the start of the year. This is the pretty side. I have about two and a half inches before I get to try my hand at a heel.
