If you want to talk about being alarmed by a bird, try getting dive bombed. At night.

I like the way he looks over his shoulder at the end to see if he crapped himself.
Didn’t get dive bombed at night, but had a large owl swoop by me at head level about 8" from my ear. Didn’t hear a thing of course, and got royally startled when it flew past into my field of view.
It was somehow scarier because of the lack of sound.
(I was in an area that was basically a trail between trees heading to a field, with enough branch overgrowth that the trail was essentially a tunnel leading to the field, where I assume that the owl was going to hunt rodents. Also, I’m pretty sure that his thought was “watch me make this guy shit himself!”).
