If it’s dry enough a backpack leaf blower will clear 2-3 inches, especially with a favoring wind. The energy needed to clear snow with a torch is just stupid & not worth the money. Takes a lot of energy to push it over the hump from snow/ice to water
Not to be a critic but they should have skipped the lounge music and used some Rammstein instead.
You don’t have to use the really amazingly hydrophobic coatings you see in the videos, and they use in ketchup bottles; though I admit that remembering these gave me the original idea. There is ordinary hydrophobic paint for decking and floors, which makes water bead up rather tha soak in. These paints are meant to be walked on, but they may not take well to paving slabs.
