Only if you’re using classic Mac OS. macOS (née OS X), being a UNIX, uses only a line feed character (I’m in the “newline” camp, possibly as a mnemonic for the escape sequence “\n”?)
I use Notepad++ to convert Windows to Unix text files so I don’t really concern myself with CR and LF anymore.
