Unless you are a streetcar. The streetcar has no choice but to follow the rails and they are (or at least were) much more solidly built. When I was commuting to college, I saw the aftermath of a bus and streetcar collision and the bus was ripped open like it was built of thin sheets of aluminum foil. The streetcar (likely built in the 50’s) was completely undented.
Of course not. But deciding that’s the “most likely” sequence of events, simply isn’t supported by the evidence at hand; it’s simply an assumption.
