I’ve been cutting my own hair since the pandemic, and struggle to keep things even. I can’t imagine self surgery and trying to keep it looking right.
I remember that one!
Yikes yikes yikes yikes. DIY surgery leading to a serious infection? One has to hope they can save his nose… I’m guessing it’s likely he’s going to end up with a more radical bit of rhinoplasty than he was hoping for, at best.
That’s how I do plumbing and appliance repair.
It’s best to check the comments, and get the opinion of a second video first.
Plumbing is #2 on my list of things I won’t DIY (with surgery being #1).
Vincent : Are you sure you can do this?
Sam : [Preparing to perform surgery on himself] Yeah. I once removed a guy’s appendix with a grapefruit spoon.
Light plumbing (faucets, drains, and even toilet replacement) is usually OK for us amateurs with lots of time on our hands. But I draw the line at soldering copper pipes and surgery.
I’m good with electrical work, general repairs, and even light construction, but when it comes to things that could potentially flood my house with water I hire someone who knows what they’re doing.
If a story starts with “so this schmuck decides to do a DIY nose job…” and ends with “…and he wound up with an infection,” it really did have a brighter outcome than anyone would have anticipated. Home surgery has such a steep learning curve!
at least it wasn’t a DIY brazillian butt lift?!
so-called “home rhinoplasty” videos on YouTube
And here I thought Dr. Pimplepopper was unwatchable. Home rhinoplasty videos are about 10 bridges too far beyond that.
Macheath?
i see what you did there!
A true lifehack, where you hack yourself and reduce your lifespan.
I had open rhinoplasty to fix a congenital breathing problem almost a month ago. I WOULD NOT ever let anyone perform this surgery without being fully informed of their expertise and cognizant of the healing process. The surgeon told me my nose would be mostly back to normal within about 3 weeks but complete healing takes a full year.
Waking up from the surgery and the immediate aftermath was interesting to say the least.
