Color me shocked that a professional football person is a piece of garbage.

I’ll await the inevitable “shuffled quietly into collegiate coaching position so alumni can be impressed and continue to donate money” - presuming he’s done with the NFL, which has the short-term memory of the least-capable goldfish.

Still proud I never in my life sat through an NFL game.

So most of this happened while he was working for ESPN, and nothing happened to him back then? Maybe ESPN has a teensy problem, too?

Little surprise here. But the Raiders management, owners, and others in such leadership positions can go suck eggs as far as I’m concerned. They’re a bunch of grifters who will sleep with any town that pays. Vegas can have them, and I hope they never are welcomed back to Oakland.

I’ve “tried” and by tried i mean sat and stared at the TV pretending to be interested while i daydreamed or just focused on loading up on chips and dip.

I commend your courage/diligence, and the modus of eating all the food tracks with what I would do in that situation.

Too big of an asshole for the Raiders? That really says something.

I was convinced that Urban Meyer would be first to go this season, but Chucky is a good departure too.

His issue with the NFL’s attempts to reduce concussions shouldn’t go unnoticed either along with his awful personal opinions but fits with the self-absorbed attitude.

Football is the only professional sport I really enjoy watching. There is a strategic element to it and the downs system ratchet ups tension. Of course it is also a reason for social gatherings sometimes.

I am not super into it like my brother, but I like to simuwatch with my GF. Only the Chiefs are somehow sucking bad this year, so it hurts a little… She likes baseball, which is the sports nerds watch so they can add up numbers the next day. Scoff.

Honestly, I didn’t think such a thing was possible.

I can’t bring myself to watch a sport where the timing is dictated first and foremost by TV advertisers. That it’s also a haven for bigoted and sexist arseholes like this coach makes it easier for me to ignore.

Hear hear. They never deserved Oakland (well, Alameda).

I find the pacing of the game annoyingly tedious but i don’t enjoy watching sports on TV anyway. As far as watching sports in person i’ve liked most of them but i still had a hard time caring about football, then again i did not grow up watching it so i’m not really invested.

Has a football coach ever been fired for offensive things they said after back-to-back wins instead of 2 straight losses?

and screw Chucky

He’ll have a new job in a couple of years. He is emblematic of professional sports and the NFL, not some weird outlier.

I’m so glad I gave up watching football ten years ago. My Sundays are much more relaxing.

That is my wonderment at so many scandal things in the ‘professional world’ - the person somehow seems to wander off elsewhere; reinvent their selves, and in so many instances; they are already loaded - and this guy just has to already be loaded - as in millions several times over; and people just look the other way; and keep on funding them; or him in this instance.
