Marc Lamont Hill refuses Rep. Vernon Jones proposed ban on critical race theory

“It’s one of those big old TV things, right?”

Indeed, as soon as he realized he lost control, he turned hostile and got dirty real quick. What he was doing was calculated and trained, Trump Sociopathy 101, take control of the situation by any means necessary.

This is mind games, psychological warfare, it’s not debate. It’s the kind of thing so many demagogues and cult of personality leaders have used to manipulate and control people… mind control, thought control, 1984 and Animal Farm right before our eyes. It’s a brazen assault on Democracy by a faltering party of sociopaths and power mongers who (as in another BB article) demand that the other team play by the rules, but themselves break them every step of the way.

The key is to selectively enforce the rules, use the system against itself… if you shoot a guy in the back as he is walking the 10 paces away, you might be chastised or jailed, but he’s dead… you won, the damage can’t be undone. All or nothing, Hitler’s Germany and WWII Japan, total war, no holds barred, they have no future if they lose, so they have nothing to lose, but we have quite a lot to lose…

FTFY, because “winning” gives them too much slack.

I hope you’re right, but given how many of them are doubling down after the insurrection… and how so many seem determined to continue NOT taking them at their word…

Just remember unless someone is a college professor, “Critical Race Theory” means something vastly different to the speaker than the textbook definition of the term. Much like how “Globalist”, “Identity Politics”, “Socialism” and “Libertarian” have been completely stripped of their original meaning by people who throw the terms around online.

To Rep Vernon Jones (R- Candiland Plantation) the term now means “History that makes white supremacists sad”

You do realize that many of us are not locked away in some isolated ivory tower, pontificating about the proles, right?

Yup. I also know that when Republicans throw around academic terms, they always mangle it badly and repeat it ad nauseum. They love their euphemisms.

Yes, and many of them do it purposefully, knowing full well what the term means, and then others follow suit. Just like they do with terms like antifa or marxism. They are willfully ignorant more than anything else.

I think you mean “refutes”.

Jones probably imagines $$$$ along the way from conservatives who want to use him as window dressing; he well knows the game and doesn’t give a crap about the nooses and fascist paraphernalia stocked in the back of the shop.
