With republicans blame is just the verb-al form of projection. And projection amounts to 67.3% of all republican media performances, (“well that and made-up statistics”). Sufficiently so that any accusation from any republican should be first and foremost greeted with: “so… you are admitting guilt of that yourself?”

That mother was also aware the kids were taking percocet but didn’t think it was a problem because it just meant they couldn’t work. She thought they were safe pills. What happened to personal responsibility we keep hearing about?

“I had heard of the opioid epidemic. I thought, you know, people are getting prescription drugs and getting addicted and then getting it on the streets, and that it affects their ability to work. I didn’t know that people were dying,”

“I didn’t know that my boys were taking anything that could kill them. They didn’t think that they were either. They thought that they were safe with pills. … But the government knew. The government’s known for years and years.”

I don’t like tankies or Empty, but MTG is definitely not a tankie. At no point has she shown any signs of being a Marxist-Leninist. Her preferred form of 1930s authoritarianism was about 1000 2000 km West of Moscow.

Edit: got the distance wrong.

Oh, oh, here comes the “lamestream” media and the libruls claiming she got her facts wrong, but look, this was just an example. Ok, so it turns out it’s not an example that supports what she’s saying in any way, in which case just ignore it - anecdotes don’t mean anything. She can find an anecdote that’s more recent, and that will prove her point. Because that’s the thing - what she wants to be true is true because she wants it to be true, not because of actual evidence (or anecdotes, if that’s all you happen to have), which doesn’t really matter. The anecdotes are just there to make you feel like it’s true, to feel good about believing it.

That’s because Biden used Obama’s time machine to do it. (That’s the same time machine that Obama used to do all of the things that he’s been blamed for that happened before and after, but not during his own time in office.)
The really impressive part is that Biden was able to go back in time to during someone else’s presidency, but still used his magic president powers to bend reality in the ways only a president can.

Oh, she’s a Tankie alright. Tankie has taken on a new meaning since the invasion of Ukraine, basically anyone who supports Putin’s authoritarianism. Same goes for Musk being a Tankie.

The woman testifying seems to say that receiving financial assistance when you’re not working is a primary contribution to drug deaths. That working is the antidote to the country’s drug epidemic? I do not agree with that.

And that is very useful for traditional tankies. Make the word meaningless and they can claim it means whatever you like, while denying it applies to them. Maybe it’s because the US never had to deal with MLs defending the suppression of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and attacking dissenters on the left, so it never meant anything over there.

I mean, we see people accuse the victims of fascism of being fascists themselves, while the fascists abusers get a slap on the wrist at most. We have trans eliminationists talking about how getting rid of trans people isn’t genocide (that’s denialism, stage 10 of the ten stages of genocide, and the stages are for when they start, not when they end).

Strip us of our language and we can’t express anything other than the status quo. That was the whole point of Newspeak in 1984.

So the nanny state is supposed to be saving us from ourselves now? Yesterday even attempts to give good advice were Fauci’s jackboot on the neck of American freedom. Very confusing indeed.

Kiessling said she didn’t know what fentanyl was.

“I had heard of the opioid epidemic. I thought, you know, people are getting prescription drugs and getting addicted and then getting it on the streets, and that it affects their ability to work. I didn’t know that people were dying,” she said.

Darwin has entered the chat.

This should not be politicized. It’s not about race.

Dumb RWNJ blames the Federal gubblement for allowing smug-druggling Mexicans across the border, but she hasn’t specifically blamed non-White people, so “it’s not about race”, which means she hasn’t politicised it.

Tankies usually (loudly) self-identify as leftist, progressive, socialist, etc. (they’re not – they’re authoritarians). EmptyG, Musk, Tucker Swanson, etc. do not.

If you’re looking for terms for these right-wing supporters of Putin there are plenty to choose from: America Firsters or Isolationists (historic), white supremacists (motivational), fascist water carriers. Or, y’know, just fascists.

[ETA: “Useful Idiot” may seem appropriate, but all of these right-wing supporters of Putin know exactly what they are and why they’re doing it)]

To me calling MTG a “tankie” is like calling the J6 insurrectionists “antifa.”

It only helps the party of actual Christian Nationalism which is, among other atrocities, currently running a femicidal campaign that is particularly focused on eliminating trans women.
