I was going to do this whole Declaration of Independence/Gettysburg Address thing but then I realized this Putin loving Secessionist is clearly not in her right mind.
She can’t even honor a simple oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Who does she think she is, Donald Trump? If he were spouting this nonsense then I’d be worried.

Well, that leaves aside the obvious possibility that what they want is what many of them say they want. Civil war, pogroms, etc.
Our office manager in Liberia had her face cut up as a child during the civil war for being from the wrong ethnic group. She doesn’t talk about it, but I suspect she was also raped. More than once. Many of our staff in Rwanda had machete marks from the genocide. Several of our loan officers in Osh, Kyrgyzstan had family members killed during the purge of Kyrgyz from Southern Uzbekistan, and two of them openly talked about being refugees from that time. We have staff in Niger, DRC, and Mozambique and have had to pull them back from their field postings due to escalating violence. “Beheadings” is a regular feature to the daily security reports I have to read. One of my best friends spent his post-Peace Corps years documenting war crimes in Serbia and Kosovo. The stories he told about it were haunting.
I am aware of what the human toll would be if there were a “National divorce.” I also know that this is exactly what Green and her ilk want. Pray for, even.
Preventing this madness is all that matters, so if I can help convince someone to step back from the brink, I’ll use whichever argument, humanitarian or economic, works best.

I would argue that putting it in economic terms doesn’t make the best argument for it. What you just told does. 
Has anyone asked Greene the hard questions? In the event of national divorce who gets to keep the tantric sex guru? Or is some sort of bipartisan custody deal on the table?
She’s more concerned with where to build the concentration camps for the LGBQT+ and Black community, actually.
She’s clearly been emulating the master attention-grabber, and may be angling for anointment as his next VP sidekick.
I don’t believe that she actually gives a shit about secession or whatever topic she’ll sound off about again tomorrow. It’s just another glob of outrageously far-right babble that she spits out regularly to keep herself in the headlines. It’s a grift, as it’s long been for Trump, who rode such a grift train all the way to the White House.
She should be a mere sideshow, but look how much attention she gets. She spends a lot of time on center stage.
And yes, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she whips out the Just Joking/Satire Defense about this secessionist rallying cry.
An especially awful element here is that many bitter white folks will take her words seriously, and some might even find ways to act on them, violently. And even as fellow Fascist Party members like Liz Cheney mildly rebuke her for such statements, Empty Geewhiz will likely suffer no serious consequences.
I agree, but again, rule of goats applies. She’s helping to stir up forces that can very well tear the country apart if we (well, mainly the media, and the courts for not yet going after the coup ring-leaders) continue to let it go unchecked and both-sides it…

My original post was saying that even another civil war wouldn’t give them what they think they want – whether they win it or not (and they wouldn’t win). They’re too stupid to realize it, though.
I have to wonder if MTG really wants to secede – even if it means another bloody civil war – or if she’s just using such talk to raise money and stay relevant among her delusional followers.
Yeah it would. They want permission to do precisely what Russia is doing in Ukraine, which is mass murder of people they hate. They WANT bloody violence. They are utterly nihilistic, and want to wipe out everyone they hate.
These fuckers aren’t being subtle or dog whistling anymore. They are PASSING LAWS to eliminate an entire group of people, and are not being shy about advocating violence. The best time to stop them was, you know, years ago, when they started using coded racism to win races. The second best time to stop them is right the fuck now.

It’s what I fear may happen in the UK. Even the advocates for it don’t recognise that it won’t break up neatly into England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It will break up into what Paradox games fans would call border gore, with several different factions fighting for different things.
