C’mon, man. It’s not like there aren’t plenty of turtles and salamanders people can legally own in the U.S. already. There’s no reason to put a poor turtle in a box when we already have box turtles.

I’m all in favor of harsh sentences for this kind of cruelty and stupidity. People should be terrified of getting caught threatening the native ecologies involved, to the point where they no longer try.
