Granted, $48K goes a lot further in Dayton than San Jose, but after hosting costs, paying the moderators’ cut, the legal headaches, having to dodge potential child porn charges, all the while still living in a decaying hovel… It’s not that I feel sorry for him, but his situation is much more like that of a Nigerian email scammer operating out of desperation than some proudly amoral loudmouthed Shkreli type “mogul” chugging Cristal and thinking he’s some apex capitalist genius.
Yeah… This story reads as more of an Everyone Loses fable than anything. Ruining people’s lives at minimum wage.
