It’s a pity, given their importance, that manufacturers are prone to…creativity…in labeling; and that even the ones that don’t outright lie usually only report performance as judged by benchmarks built for the camera market(which, sensibly enough, focus on how fast the card can dump medium to large contiguous files from RAM to flash; because that’s what cameras do); and are largely silent on performance under the conditions encountered by a computer’s block device.
really fast SD cards makes a huge difference in android devices. i bought a cheap one and was suffering with noticeable delays which is why i decided to swap it out for a better one, the samsung evo+ and couldn’t be happier. i’ve since swapped out the cards in my other android devices as well.
