They announcing a Paul Westerberg Skyway in 2024?
At least you don’t need a new Unicode character for this street
That I can get behind - definitely. It’s much better than renaming airports after Republican presidents.
The Prince store in the Minnesota airport is pretty great btw (probably my favorite airport store, if that were saying anything).
Now they need to find a clock tower they can dedicate to Morris Day
Signs marking the highway’s name will be purple, and the name change costs will be covered by Prince’s friends and family.
Really, Minnesota? Prince is a musical legend. You couldn’t rifle through the couch cushions to find the 100K or so for the signage?
I’m both proud and embarrassed of my birth state right now…
Used to live in the Minne-Apple in the 90s and early 2000s. Prince owned a club called Glam Slam in Downtown. He eventually sold it and the named changed. But no one called it by its new name. Instead it was referred to as “The-Club-Formerly-Known-as-Glam-Slam.”
