Mitch McConnell: "African-American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans"

Meh, he dies and there are a hundred Trump Humpers fighting to take his place.

Other factor:

The issue isn’t the turnout of POC and whether it is 90% or 10%. The issue is whether racist policies prevent POC who try to vote from doing so or having their vote counted. Turnout can be an indicator of problems or success but the issue here is voter suppression not absolute turnout numbers.

You can’t kill my vibe, yo.

It’s still:

One less.

But in the meantime, Dem governor Beshear appoints a replacement.

Racists once again trying to use the existence of Black success as evidence that there are no barriers to Black success. (Of course, Black struggle is never allowed to be evidence of barriers to Black success either, so, they’ve really got the field covered…)

Every sane person in the world knows Mitch McConnell is a degenerate racist bigot piece of shit, but on a good note, here’s what’s in the Freedom to Vote Act.

Right, just like “one guy who had a Black dad got to be President” is proof that there is racial equality in politics. Please overlook the fact that Obama was a scholar/statesman/organizer/author/athlete/perfect husband and father/all-around embodiment of the American dream etc. whereas the white guy who got the job after him was a borderline illiterate thrice-married racist misogynist assclown who had no experience in public service whatsoever.

A guy who’s the spitting image of a turtle probably shouldn’t judge people based on their physical attributes.

Not a slip up.

Mitch says more stupid things than humans do.

The reporter specifically refered to ‘people of color’, and not just Blacks.
Besides the racism in his response, Moscow Mitch not only dodges the question but also ignores the plethora of voting suppression laws being passed across the country that will render his statement invalid in the future.

It would be nice if a reporter called him out on it.

Only the good, etc etc.

Yes! That’s what I was coming to say: the percentages do not reflect the barriers to voting and the targeted policies. Think about what it takes to get similar voter turnout numbers with the distances some people have to travel, how long they have to wait in line, when the ID form most commonly used in their community is not accepted, etc. etc.

Yeah, I think this is evidenced by the fact that their current strategies also stop some of their own folks from voting. But because they’ll stop more POC from voting than MAGA, the slim net difference could be just enough to tip the scales.

Much like how the Jim Crow Era “poll taxes” hurt a lot of poor white voters along with the impoverished Black community they were designed to disenfranchise. It’s OK as long as it hurts the other side more.

Plus it has the convenient cover argument of: “See, lots of people from BOTH sides are inconvenienced, but it’s in the name of voter security, so it’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make.”

True, but those trump lovers don’t have as much power as mitch the *itch. He’s controlled the senate for longer than I can remember, even when he is “minority” leader.
