I was just being difficult - and you are correct, there are no tailed apes.
The answer to your earlier crocodile versus alligator identifier is that the alligator has a broader U-shaped snout compared to the crocodile’s longer V-shaped one. Also, if you can see a lower tooth when the mouth is closed then it’s definitely a crocodile.

The Barbary macaque has a very short tail under an inch long. It still counts as a tail.
