Morrissey cover of Jobriath's "Morning Starship" is good, actually

So loved The Smiths in my teen years - still do! Sadly his solo work has become mediocre at best, and his volatile “may or may not perform” attitude over the past 15 years (not to mention his many asinine statements) just makes me want him to go away as well.

And he’s boring. His version of Wedding Bell Blues is so uninspired. His voice has so little emotional range compared to the original - as Lou said “a styrofoam lover with emotions of concrete.”

I too, love the smiths… they were great band, in no small part thanks to Johnny Marr

I can forgive mediocre, it’s the flat out racist bullshit I can’t stomach.

That’s great…

Almost forgot!

Oh, and I found this, too…

If only he’d actual read some good old Oscar Wilde, you lot would not be oscillating wildly on brexit!

Same - super disappointing. Love Johnny Marr when paired with Matt Johnson though! Wish he would have toured with him again on this last go round.

I saw Johnny Marr at the Moseley Folk Festival and he rounded out a great set with “How soon is now?”; fantastic.

@anon61221983 Thanks for that; I’d not heard of Gene Malin.

In Morrisey’s defence, he did write the best Peanuts cartoon
