Most Republicans think Biden stole the election

By absolute vote count biden has won by a margin.
By state and electoral count Biden has won by a margin.
If Republicans are trying to subvert the vote trying to using tricks or obscure loopholes they are risking a lot.
People that think they are smart to playing dirty don’t expect that also the other part could play dirtier.

Why would do you expect that?

This kind of “Democrats will go out of their way to do stupidly self-destructive things, because they’re baaaaaaaad” stuff is almost as frustrating and inane as the Republican denials of reality.

There is a big difference between religion an science.
Besides Pope Francis congratulated president Biden. I think that in the refusal religion is not the main point.

Well put. I think this feeds into my perspective of, it is the response to these symbols and how it makes them feel, which is the main thing these folks are attracted to, and keeps them hooked.

That’s the biggest non- subjective reason why the electoral college is flawed. Not just that the small states arguably get more voice per person, but that as a mathematical equation, there’s such a weak correlation between the amount of votes gotten and the amount of electors. Any algorithm where the input of ‘3 millions less votes’ equals the output of ‘5 million more votes’ is clearly faulty.

I don’t think they do it because they’re bad, but because they’re bad at politics.

Case in point: activists have been making the argument that Biden can unilaterally forgive all student loan debt that routes through the Department of Education. The talk coming out of people like Schumer and Warren before this week was that Biden should forgive the first $50,000 of debt for everyone.

Now we have this:

They compromise with themselves on overwhelmingly popular policies until the action is so minuscule as to be meaningless, and then complain when nobody gives them any credit for “getting something done”.

Yep, that was my thought exactly.

I think Trump’s “rabid base” is significantly bigger than the normal GOP “rabid base.” He has been fixated from that start on appealing to racists, nationalists, social conservatives etc. He got more votes in 2020 than in 2016 by convincing them that this election was an existential threat to traditional, white, America. A large number of disaffected conservatives are ALL IN for Trump.

You mean the ones that predicted the outcome nearly perfectly? Yeah, that’s the real problem.

Of course rigorously echoing and reinforcing the lack of empathy for “out groups” is important because any deviation serves as a rebuke to the group. If members wish to receive empathy from the in group, the MUST join in ostracizing the out group.

I grew up in northern Canada. There were quite a few Americans living there who had fled the draft during the 60s. A friend’s parents were Americans, who had emigrated to Canada in the early 70s, but his dad had already done a tour in Vietnam as a field medic, and got a Kalashnikov bullet through his femur for his troubles. He walks ok, with a slight limp. Point is: not a draft-dodger, obviously believed in America.

Turns out they left America in the early 70s because they could see a crisis brewing as public education got its funding cut every year. They knew that one day they’d be outnumbered by people who simply hadn’t received a decent education. They weren’t sure what would happen, but they knew it would be within their lifetimes and it wouldn’t be good.

Yeah so reporting in from 50 years in the future, I can say by 2020, it’s definitely happened. lol

Those investigations absolutely need to be done, but I don’t want Biden to be the one pursuing them. We need to return to an independent Justice Department. We can’t afford even the appearance of a President using the influence of his office to punish political adversaries no matter how despicable those adversaries are.

Biden’s job is to put someone competent in charge of the DoJ and then get out of the way.

How good are the writers for these polls that they have a cohesive violent thread? I’d only given them cred as unspeakable (because of the contrarian phone manners blowing out people’s phone cones runs on.) Some low bidder’s burnin’ up minutes for an ad or pollster AI that really hates the sensibilities? Jobbing as journalism?

Of course the Dems stole it… it was to counter the theft the gop was attempting.
