Just some random venting: why even bother with having a tire pressure monitoring system in a vehicle if the vehicle doesn’t at least say which tire is off; better yet, just show the tire pressure for each tire. My 2018 does that, but my lame 2015 doesn’t and the stupid TPMS in my 2007 never worked properly to begin with.

The mice in the garage really like the missus’ EV*. The battery maintenance system kicks in as needed in the winter, keeping the battery pack warm, and the mice seem to love it.

Of late, they’ve been storing peanuts in the frame of the car. We figured it out when driving round curves we would hear things rolling around in the ceiling. Thankfully the car panelling snaps together like a cheap toy** so it comes apart easily. We probably fished out a few dozen peanuts.

I’ve spent the past week evicting mice.

Are the older vehicles using indirect TPMS?

You’re protecting the environment and supporting local wildlife.

The local wildlife gets dropped off at the nearby forest preserve. At least they’ll have a chance there!

Maybe the 2007, but not the 2015. Just lazy product design.

According to folks who post van life videos, they really don’t like mint or mothballs. I had a chipmunk try to use my car for food storage once. I used mint spray around the tires, and never saw signs of it again. :woman_shrugging:t4:

If you’ve got a mouse problem, you need to go buy an owl off that guy at the gas station.

That’s ugly, but wasn’t Q3 ugly for all automotive manufacturers? They have a ton of mostly-produced vehicles still awaiting chips before they can be sold.

At this point the mice have a ME problem!

Their operation and admin costs are ballooning (but not R&D).
They have built a whopping 7,363 cars in Q3/2022, around 15,000 total since they have started making them, and hope to reach 25,000 by the end of the year. Last month they issued a recall of 13,000 cars after a manufacturing error was found.

Last year their total revenue was US$55 million, the operating income was negative US$4.2 billion. Net income was negatve US$4.7 billion.

They still have a ton of cash from the IPO (2021-11-10) - but unless they actually start producing cars at scale soon they will have burned through that in 2 to 3 years. At the moment there are pre-orders for maybe 100,000 cars; and they may (or may not) build 100,000 delivery vans for Amazon - over the next 8 years or so.

Not just a bad Q3.

It could be worse. It could be my money.

Some of it might be, via institutional investor(s).
