Tinbergen’s bird egg experiments that started the idea of supernormal stimuli was my first introduction to ethology. A lot of fascinating work has been done that tells us a lot about how our brains process our surroundings.
Unfortunately “nature’s fake news” is about the least appealing way I can imagine the topic being presented
