Nazis openly harass Jewish people in Desantis Land

If you think this sort of stuff only happens in Florida, you should consider asking your Jewish friends about antisemitism in America.

Almost nothing puzzles me as much as Right Wing Jews. They have seen the worst things in the world done to them, by Right Wing Nazis, and yet for some inexplicable reason, many Jews are rabid Right Wing nutcases. WHY?

So the new Nazi uniform is tropical onezies and garlic? Meth is a hell of a drug.

It’s all over the U.S., of course. Considering Florida’s Jewish population and its clout as a concentrated voting bloc it’s significant that DeSantis and the state GOP have chosen to embolden Nazis like this clown instead.

It’s a probably a variant of the uniform for the Boogaloo Boys-strain of Nazi shithead:

There are right-wing Jews everywhere, of course. Netanyahu and his allies are trying to destroy an independent judiciary in Israel right now. If we’re talking about the ones in the U.S., though, it usually comes down to one or more of these reasons (all involving a level of self-delusion):

  1. Jewish moneyCons and Libertarians who see the far-right as allies in their eternal war on taxes. A good example is Bernie Marcus, a co-founder of Home Depot, who donated millions to von Clownstick’s campaigns. The delusion here is that their money will save them once the MAGA fascists consolidate power, when it will more likely attract the looters and thieves.

  2. One-issue Jewish voters, where the issue is unquestioning support for the State of Israel. These are usually neoCons. A good institutional example is AIPAC, which might as well be called ALPAC given that its lobbying positions support Likud rather than Israel. These were the voters who were easily bought off by the empty symbolic gesture of Biff moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and who believe the ridiculous GOP narrative that the Dems hate Israel. Their delusion is that the America First fascists won’t gleefully abandon Israel the moment they’re in full control.

  3. Religious fundies, especially ultra-Orthodox and Hasidic Jews. These sects are already extremely socially conservative, sexist, bigoted, etc., to the point of rejecting other Jews as being not sufficiently Jewish. The example here is the Lubavitcher sect (or Chabad), a borderline messianic group. Their delusion is that evangelical Zionists support their dream of returning to Israel to welcome the messiah when, as @anon73430903 notes above, the Xtianists anticipate it as an Apocalyptic and genocidal celebration of the return of Jesus.

  4. Opportunistic kapos out for fame and money. Ben Shapiro is the poster child here, and as with all kapos their delusion is particularly and obviously stupid.

There’s right-wingers among everybody, and it makes just as little sense. I’ve met Ethiopian-American Republicans and I know of Somali-American Republicans. I went to a birthday party where the hosts & most of the guests were from Central America; one was wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” t-shirt. Our 8th-grader sometimes relays the weird shit that comes out of peoples’ mouths (students and faculty) at school which is minority-majority. Etc.

(Now, how prevalent they are among a given group is a different story.)

A lot of it, for all these weird supporters of the American far right, is ladder-pulling. The core Republican value of “I’ve got mine, screw you” has an appeal to a certain type of personality.

They’re still a minority, which is why they’re seen as weird and perplexing. For example, the Jewish vote in elections for national office still usually goes Dem unless the candidate on offer is weak.

It would probably net you an assault charge.

Worth it

I’m sure that’s some of it – among the Ethiopians I’ve met & Somalis I know about, it’s more to do with their cultural mores & the GOP’s ostensible support for social conservatism.

That too. If the GOP wasn’t so inherently racist they’d have locked in a lot of church-going Latinx and Black voters years ago.

Sexism is the base – the original binary of us versus them – and racism builds on top of that.

When you see POC adhering to right wing ideologies, it’s because the sexism comes first.

“Freedom” and “small government” can be attractive to immigrants from dictatorships, who don’t remember the government in their home country ever doing anything to help people. If they come from left wing dictatorships, they remember the government controlling people by pretending to help them, and they mistake actually helping people for tyranny. They see equality, social justice and “wokeness” as restraints on individual freedom and pandering to class interests.

That, most likely, is exactly what they are hoping for. And it won’t be a good look for either side.

If neo-nazi antisemitism is tolerated, can good old fashioned lynching be far behind?

I would post a picture of White people enjoying the carnival-like atmosphere of a good old fashioned lynching but frankly I find them horrific and not safe for all audiences. Just check out a US history book anywhere but in Florida.
