Heard about this on the local NPR affiliate. Everyone is having fun with this one! The couple jumped before the car hit the Schuylkill, so the only injury was to their dignity.

First: accidentally, although of course correcting words in a quote apparently no longer needs to be indicated.
Secondly: this implies that they had left the engine running! Unless of course they shifted it into neutral, as @jlw 's summary would indicate which would make more sense.
In any case, they were apparently so engaged in the front seat, so they were going to end up mostly unsatisfied anyway. Does a Range Rover not have enough backseat / cargo area to get more comfortable?
