I still miss John Peel. No one has filled the gap he left on music radio.

I will spend many hours looking and listening through this, thank you @garethb2.

I realize that what’s been missing in my life is Can.
I have one of their disc on some format or another.
But I need to listen to all of the Can all of the time.

The Breeders’ 1990 session was recorded by Steve Albini. It sounds like it was recorded live off the floor in the same studio they recorded Pod. Pretty cool.

Not just music.
Home Truths, every Saturday morning on R4 was a joy.

Agreed. John Peel was a national treasure.

If anyone has not read “Margrave of the Marshes” I strongly encourage them to do so.

FYI: Sisters of Mercy and Neubauten links are dead.

so you’re saying…that you need to listen to all that you possibly…Can?

This is an amazing thing.

I’ve heard about the Peel Sessions ad infinitum but probably only actually heard a handful ever. Many of them are releases as EPs but not this many?

I started with The Sundays. Recorded about a year before their first album came out

Or is it spelled CAN, I’m not quite clear.

Yeah, good song. Great vocals – and sexy too.
Oops I stopped at the first one.

weird… i listened to them, before i commented.

Most of the Peel Sessions were recorded at Maida Vale.

Edit, because of comment limits:

It’s not technically a Peel Session, but Orbital’s inaccurately named “Last” Gig Ever was recorded for a John Peel show at Maida Vale studios.

I just checked them and they seem to be working for me too

330 listed on discogs. https://www.discogs.com/label/313331-The-Peel-Sessions

I have so few of them, compared to how many I love. The only one I find right now is ‘Stump’ - which is fantastic and easily overlooked with all the superstars in that list.

I’m starting with the Cure, but… there goes my day.

Not only Nick Cave, but Nick Cave and the Cavemen, so maybe this is with J.G. Thirlwell?!?
