āNot sure. $300 - $5000 depending on membership. But knowing all the ins and outs of each membership policy is not my job. You do owe me $30 right now for coming in to talk about the candy bar. If we consider the candy bar as a drug, you might pay $25, $50 or $100 depending on whether your membership considers it a tier1, tier2 or tier3 candy. Of course, they might not cover it at all.ā

Because this is pure genius.
I know a lady who is cousins with one of these parents , and hereās what happened to spark this: After one of the teams scored a run, one of the parents made a joke about it being a good thing that numbers were just constructions of abstract thought. He knew this would get under the skin of another group of parents who are ardent believers in Platoās position that numbers were ārealā in an absolute sense and, predictably, they fire back with a bunch of hooting about how the first guy and his fā¦

A nuanced description of why the described shenanigans are even possible.
Itās a thing that happens when a state constitution makes the quorum requirement larger than the cloture requirement, so a minority party of a certain specific size canāt filibuster by prolonging debate but it can filibuster like this, by not showing up.
Itās avoidable. Just make quorum a simple majority instead of, like, whatever it is in Oregon. Which I notice is never specifically described in any of these news articles, despite being key information to understand the story.
EDIT: Froā¦

This thread is a dumpster fire, but this post is great.
Sorry, have you not been on the internet since The Force Awakens came out? Star Wars fans (well, āfansā) have been screaming bloody murder about the franchise being āruinedā by SJWs and Kathleen Kennedy. They bullied Kelly Marie Tran off of Twitter. They submitted a petition in Aurebesh to strike The Last Jedi from canon. People who enjoyed The Last Jedi are frequently told to kill themselves. Chuck Wendig has several stalkers and trolls who harass him constantly because of the tie-in novels heā¦

This cuts through all the bullshit:
Rather than āban all gamesā or āabandon all social mediaā, maybe itās time tech started using a QMP and HACCP approach (for those of you not steeped in manufacturing, QMP is Quality Management Plan and HACCP is Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).
For example, in your kitchen, an identifiable hazard might be raw chicken which carries a risk of Salmonella. Rather than abandoning the idea of ever having chicken ever again, you create control points to manage the hazard: you use a separate cutā¦

Some great explanations by @superluser in this thread!
I donāt think so. Maybe he gets acquitted at trial, but otherwise I doubt anyone will be stupid enough to stick their necks out for him. Iāve underestimated the stupidity of this administration before, so you might be right.
But hereās the scenario that has happened so far and what would need to happen to quash the case.
We know that Epstein was given what any lawyer would immediately identify as a suspicious sweetheart deal. It uses vague language that does not bind other federal districtā¦

I really do not understand this learned helplessness BS. Of course the Senate, while under Republican control, will never vote to remove Trump from office. But itās absurd to think that if House Democrats do their job and pass lengthy, thorough articles of impeachment to the Senate outlining and detailing Trumpās many, many crimes and violations of his oath of office, the Senate can just sit on them and Trump can walk into the election with a claim of exoneration.
The only way that works is ifā¦
