Yeah, fuck this, I’m done. I’ve had BB in my RSS reader for… fuck, decades, literally over 20 years. Not that long for some people. I’ve been skimming over the torrent of mediocre posts, awful ads, and some real pieces of shit for years now.

As a Brit, I have to make note that a Just Stop Oil demonstrator got 10 years for climbing on the Dartford Crossing Bridge and stopping traffic for a few hours, while an anti-immigration demonstrator got 9 years for setting light to a hotel full of asylum seekers.

I wouldn’t call this activism “temper tantrums”. It is very high profile and designed to get news coverage. How well it’s working, I don’t know. I guess it’s better than nothing.
That seems very inconsistent punishments considering the harm involved.

Truly, I am 13 and this is deep.
But, at least it’s consistently liberal through to the conclusion. What’s the solution to the great neotoddlerism problem? Of course the answer is responsible individual action, because that always solves everything.
I seem to remember recently there was a very dignified, massive counter-protest in England, to counter the violent racists. Apparently the counter-protestors were doing it wrong, actually they should have put their heads in the sand, to withhold their attention.

Also I don’t think it’s remotely fair to call either direct actions attempting to draw attention to existential threats and right-wing riots terrorizing immigrant populations as “todderlism” or “temper tantrums.” Although it’s unfair for very different reasons… (unfair to climate change activists to compare them to toddlers, unfair to toddlers to compare them to violent racists).
I’ve been assuming it’s the name given to engagement tests using generative AI-written articles.

I’ll forgive the Disney worship, the kid-gloves treatment of Bezos, but IDF propaganda calling supporters of Palestine rich, spoiled toddlers who “don’t have problems of their own so they invent them” is where I bow out. It’s like a Peter Singer argument on ethics.
It doesn’t matter how tightly argued it is, how mathematically precise the syllogisms, how long the thesis is. If you come to the Ethics equivalent of “2+2=5”, you’ve divided by zero somewhere in there, the only question is where, and how often, you did it in order to completely invalidate all the other shit you just said.
