Ah, the Norwegian Blue. Lovely plumage.
I’ll never believe this happened in New Jersey, never I tell you.
Crap, I was late.
I’ve mentioned it in the Animals/Pets thread, but there is a feral parrot population in North NJ.
I pass by their nest in Edgewater all the time (its on a major road running down the eastern side of Hudson County. Never saw a parrot or realized what that was until recently.
(Not my photo)
I’m still waiting for animal control to come by and round up those stray flamingoes strutting around my neighbor’s yard. Not to mention all those poor homeless gnomes.
Gotta be careful with the gnomes. They’re organized.
So we hide from the c****s on our night reconnaissance
Steal flamingos and gnomes from the dark side of the lawn
And we give them good homes give them love they’ve never known
In the loft of the barn in the town where I was born
So the plan worked! Parrot-cam safely installed inside the police station.
A brief stay at Ocean Beach / San Diego and you become well aquatinted with the non-indigenous parrots flying through the streets 24/7.
The plumage don’t enter into it, mate. It’s stone dead!
He’s pining for the fjords!
And in San Francisco. I highly recommend this excellent documentary:
In Maine, we called those Tacky Farms. I was a founding member of the Society for the Liberation of Wild and Domestic Lawn Ornaments. We freed them back into the woods where they would gather in plastic and ceramic groups to praise liberty. It was a beautiful time in my life.
Until I got arrested for theft. Ahem.
Yes! I’ve seen it. Very good choice for this topic.
Seemed pretty tame when handled.
