The very meaning of “drain the swamp” was never actually specified. As far as his followers are concerned, it means whatever they want it to mean. Based on how Trump himself talked about it, the implied meaning changed radically once he was elected, for obvious reasons. Now it seems to mean, “Get rid of anyone who disagrees with me.”

I take issue with the implication that Trump’s collusion, incompetence and cruelty aren’t ALSO excellent reasons for demanding his immediate removal.
