We have wood pigeons. Our dog sidles out of the side door then rushes around to the back hoping to catch one. So far he has always been disappointed, but it does discourage them from staying around too long.
Doves are nesting in the light fixture on my balcony again this year. If things go as previous years, in a few weeks the chicks will be getting ready to fly, and maybe hop around on the porch a bit, and the cats will be sitting on the back of the couch or by the door watching Bird Channel TV, occasionally charging at the windows or chittering hungrily.
