Lots of people in the US have switched to composting toilets like this:

When the availability and/or cost of water becomes an even larger problem, I’m expecting the popularity of units like this to expand beyond tiny homes and RVs. According to folks who use them long-term, they are better than a litter box, because they don’t smell, waste doesn’t have to be scooped out, and they automatically separate liquids. Having cleaned up litter boxes for about 20 years, I wish I had trained a cat to use one of these instead!

I’m willing to give it a shot. Better for the environment than the bidet trend, IMO. :woman_shrugging:t4: Traditional models waste a lot of water:

clever. i like that it is reef safe. that would have had to apply to all sunscreen sold in the keys, but desantis is a fascist asshole who had Tallahassee legislate against “home rule” of municipalities and county-level ordinances. it all has to be approved by the state lege. :roll_eyes:
