I had heard of this and it was apparently, spectacular. But I was unaware that it took place on “the abandoned pier near Walmart”.

Is this from their new Ed Gein-inspired collection?
Missed opportunity to make a better “ran afowl of the law” pun.
TSA = Turkey-Smuggled Arms"
Nice try with the X-ray blocking bag, I guess.
You can fly with a firearm. You put it in checked baggage, unloaded in a lockbox with the ammunition in the box. You declare it on check in & they have you fill out a form and have special handling procedures. It happens many, many times a day at an airport.
But - if you put it in your carryon - you’re breaking the law. Even if you “just forgot”. If you go to such lengths to evade security to get one in the passenger compartment- you’ve stated an intention and should be given the maximum sentence.
Also - yoink! That gets shared with my airport friends.
Or should this be in meta?
Maybe not odd but an interesting in depth look at a shadow industry
Finally, finally, finally! The leftover student art that the Ceramics Prof throws out every year finally pays off. The students make human heads out of clay and fire them in the kiln, and at the end of every semester students leave some behind. So I started taking them and for a few months have been secretly leaving these around town, in odd places. In the woods, in the water under boat docks, etc etc. I have not ever seen a reaction. Until last night, on our neighborhood Fb page. Success!
Hilarious!
