It’s because appliance receptacles are a mess of different standards and form factors, so cords generally are a separate line item.

Went there a couple of years ago, very nice. Worth a visit if you’re interested in aviation history.

I remember learning how to wire a three-pin plug in the 70’s, at school, and my Dad showing me at home also. Earth, Neutral, Live etc.
I had no idea at the time it was because appliances came without them.
By the time I was old enough to afford my own, they came plug-attached.
