We used to ride to a spot where we’d keep our bicycle helmets on at the picnic table due to falling chestnuts. But falling pieces of concrete? Yikes.

It’s not the best office location but it has low overhead.

It must be glorious to work in a place that is free from the undue burden of job killing regulations.

Don’t let the Tories find out, otherwise kids will be sent to school in helmets too.

I was wondering how long it would take before Cruella realises that there is spacious accommodation available.

Autoclaved aerated concrete, reinforced or not, isn’t a bad building material as such. It as strong, solid and as safe as any other building material in this country provided of course people believe in it the buildings it is used for are designed for it from the outset, built using approved methods (and compatible other materials like the mortar), properly maintained and not pushed significantly beyond their design life without carefully planned additional measures.

On the other hand, I’ve once been on a guided tour to the Ytong factory at Hamm. When they have breakage or surplus they don’t dump it in a landfill. They break it down into much smaller bits, repackage them, and sell it as kitty litter.
