I agree that everything is possible, but, the thing is, Putin is actually very, really, truly popular with way too many Russian people; clearly, not with all of them, but, probably, with most.

Agreed. Russia is not unique in that regard, as any American here will attest. Even a repressive regime supported by 1/3 of the adult population can fall, though. War weariness brought down the Tsar in 1917. Too early to say if that will happen this time, but incompetent handling of military logistics, bewildered troops in the field, and middle-aged mothers on the homefront crying about the fate of their boys are never good signs for a war-mongering Russian autocrat.

Sorry! Folks pried the driver, who miraculously survived, though obviously injured, out of the car. Later bits suggest the tank driver was captured and possibly killed by citizens.

His poll numbers are shit. He’s just debased himself about Trump and Trumpism for the last couple of years (he had been a fairly vocal critic in 2017-2019ish, IIRC), and he won’t even get his prize. A fitting reward for such a toady.

It’s easy and entirely proper to dump on us for producing cheesecloth bags of wet shit like Mandel, Vance, and Jordan but they’re not the whole story.
