Ohio will be eliminated

And here I thought it was always New Jersey or Cali that people wanted to “get rid of.”

Fair point, especially since 2000;
I’m just remembering that while I was growing up someone always seemed to be joking about CA falling off into the ocean, with similar sentiments for NJ.

They’re behind schedule, aren’t they.

Just leave Great Lakes Brewery and I’m fine with it.

I’d settle for just Mentor.

I’m pretty sure Michigan has given them free passage around the Great Lakes, on the condition that Columbus is the first target…

It’s smart to start around the edges. Think about how difficult it’ll be to cut Ohio out of the continent without cutting out any surrounding states. I mean it’s not Kansas or Colorado, but Lake Erie isn’t all that wide, so poking the saw through there is going to be somewhat awkward.

Plasma cutter?

Actually, you only have 3 cuts to make: across the bottom of Michigan, down to the Ohio along Indiana, then down to the Ohio again by Pennsyltucky.

Just go the Age of Ultron movie route and blast the entire state into space?

I’m not talking about the number of cuts (although that is a topic worthy of consideration), but starting out the cutting. It’s clearly (/sarc) easier to cut out a state that has a significant ocean coast. So Hawaii comes pre-removed, and then Alaska and Florida are next easiest, and then the rest of the coasts, working our way inward.

Nah, Ohio already has an unusually large number of astronauts from the state, they don’t need that kind of boost to their numbers

I’m pretty sure that’s the premise the birthers were working from.

Nature will find a way as well. As goes all ice so goes Red States, Florida, DC, and others…
