Old safe opened; nothing inside

Let’s all just be glad the safe wasn’t from Derry, Maine where that emptiness would suggest horribly that something escaped.

It is a time capsule, maybe it’s on a time-release and we just travelled back in time a few days?

(This might not end well.)

A “time capsule” from 1969, which is to say an old, locked safe, was opened to reveal air inside.

Maybe in 1969 they figured that breathable air would be a precious thing in 2019.
They were wrong, but probably only by a decade, so not bad!

Previously I suggested that this might have been a prank: “I know, let’s pretend we’ve created a time capsule and not actually put anything in it! They’ll be so confused when they finally open it! Pass the joint, man.” But now I’m also wondering if someone didn’t mix up safes. Someone mentioned that there was a time capsule in a safe, but failed to make it clear there was more than one safe around. Maybe the time capsule safe got emptied to be used to store valuable documents, the users wondering why it was full of random junk…

A safe was opened and there was nothing in it.

ISWYDT! :joy:

Somewhere, in some senior residence, they could hear him scream. “Gotcha!”
