…
Aw, that is a bloody shame.
73 is not that much of an age these days.
My surprise aside, best to your family.
(I feckin loved Grease),
you were cool as feck!
An important part of her legacy probably unknown outside of Victoria. She campaigned long and hard for this and there’s a few State health ministers with twisted arms.
Less than a week ago I was listening to the Xanadu LP that I bought in 1980.
Sigh.
RIP, I’m going to honor her by being just a little more mellow today.
These deaths become gut punches the older I get. Grease was one of those LPs I wore out as a kid. Condolences to her family.
RIP “Sandy.”
This is the tour we saw in 2016 in Windsor. The funny thing about that concert, there were all ages but a lot of 70+. I am not kidding, the ushers escorted the older people to their seats and then vallet parked their scooters. We were front row and it was awesome.
My wife didn’t believe me but Olivia made eye contact with me as she sang I Honestly Love You.
And this is a great song.
We saw Grease several times that summer, and we probably still have the original album on vinyl somewhere. I don’t know much about her Xanadu, but I gotta say I prefer the version coming out of Toronto by a 3-member band.
Edit due to bad taste, typos.
Six pop gods of the time sharing the stage together.
If you can, listen on some quality speakers and read the video description to see why the sound is good. Thank goodness someone was smart enough to pull a stereo feed and saved it.
Thanks for pointing that out right after she died.
Yeah, you’re right. Bad taste, sorry.
Whether it’s a cover or not, A Little More Love always transports me right back to '78.
Grease was fine, I always enjoy seeing it (and singing along). But it was Kira in Xanadu who stole my heart.
The wife and I just watched a full concert, good stuff.
At the end in related videos this came up, it’s a very recent interview.
TIL Olivia-Newton-John was even more awesome than I already knew her to be.
Rest in power, Sandy.
Xanadu was the first soundtrack I ever bought. I still have it on vinyl too.
The movie is still a guilty pleasure for me. ONJ was a delight in it.
I, too, admired her music, owned a copy of Xanadu, as well as the Physical album (quite a number of great songs on that one). Not to mention Grease, a favorite of almost every one.
Rest in piece, Sandy.
Oh wow. That’s just awesome.
And thanks so much for reminding me how great Juliana Hatfield really is. Gonna go spend some quality time with the headphones now.
