Bruh, we just split off this entire discussion to give you a place to continue trying to sell your bad-faith argument. Please stop posting in the Chick-fil-A topic.
And let’s not forget how the COVID lockdowns resulted in large spikes in domestic violence and child abuse. We’d see some of that if everyone was forced to stay home on Sundays
Except nurses and other essential personnel. Because they just don’t deserve to have the same day off as their families. Who will be forced to stay home without them. And screw single parents who are essential employees and couldn’t get any child care on the forced day off.
Also, thanks @Brainspore. Now I can like all the delicious snarky fish in good conscience
Do you read the article, it start by saying very few things are open Sunday. Only essential things like pharmacies and gas stations.
What madness have I stumbled into here?
But that not everything was, including places to shop.
Hence NOT EVERYTHING IS CLOSED IN GERMANY ON SUNDAY…
Sorry I didn’t understand how this thread split. Also, it’s not a bad faith argument. In Germany few things are open Sunday, a whole country is mostly closed on Sunday. It does happen.
You are once again, ignoring what I and others have said, just to reiterate your main point while ignoring what people are telling you…
And museums and cinemas and swimming pools and gyms, as per the bolded paragraph…those poor Germans, not having all those things shut down for them.
If you don’t address or acknowledge the dozens of counterpoints pointing out why your proposal is both oppressive and unworkable then you aren’t making a good-faith argument.
I also think that it is a bad faith argument to suggest I think hospitals should close on Sunday.
Also, all the people at grocery stores and pharmacies that are open, because even on Sunday, sometimes people need to get shit.
Then why did you suggest that?
I see you didn’t
Moreover, most entertainment and cultural activities are also available on Sundays. These include museums, cinemas, swimming pools, spas, thermal resorts, amusement parks, and even gyms.
Edit:

"A tiger is a tiger, not a lamb, mein Herr
He’ll never turn the vinegar to jam, mein Herr
So we do, what we do
When we’re through, then we’re through
And he’s (almost) through, so
I guess no one actual works at those places, and they’re all automatically run… or the people who work there don’t matter and shouldn’t get a day off… /s
I didn’t suggest it. No reasonable and normal person would think that.
Like the nurses and fire fighters.
