As a follow-up, as a result of the flood of Washington anglers flooding into Oregon, ODFW closed fishing, hunting and shellfish taking to non-residents. In addition, they closed clamming and crabbing to folks not from the coast. I’m not sure how they’re going to enforce that one, but it’s a good call - the coast was inundated with people during spring break, leading to Governor Brown’s decision to close practically everything. The coast also has a pretty high percentage of retirees, so trends a bit older than the rest of the state.

Nature talked to Fyodor Urnov, who directs a genomics center at the University of California, Berkeley. The organization launched a testing service in late March and began pitching it to hospitals. His lab already has the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification that is required to perform COVID-19 tests.
The tests would have been free to hospitals, funded by private philanthropists. But he still had trouble finding hospitals interested in working with him.
“The business of American medicine and the way it is organized is astonishingly unprepared for this,” he told Nature. "I show up in a magic ship, with 20,000 free kits and CLIA and everything, and the major hospitals say: ‘Go away, we cannot interface with you.’”

This has been a continuing narrative through out his presidency, republicans who aren’t in line with him. But when it counts, they shut up and do what they’re told. I’ll believe they’ll rebel against him when I see it…
Susan Collins comes to mind… her independence is meaningless when she continues to vote right along with her party and with the president, almost every single time.
