Thatâs a lot of people only being tested if they feel they need to be, or am I getting that wrong?
Theyâre only testing people who they have reason to suspect were exposed; you need a doctorâs referral to get a test.
So far, every Tasmanian case has been either:
- People who caught it while overseas
- Close associates of people who caught it overseas
- Medical personnel
A large proportion of the Tasmanian cases were due to an outbreak at a single small hospital in northwest Tasmania (which is very sparsely populated; most Tasmanians live near Hobart in the southeast). They had one Covid patient from overseas, but then something went awry in the hospitalâs infection control procedures and a large percentage of the hospital staff got sick.
(the âtwo hospitalsâ are basically one institution; a lot of Oz public hospitals have an associated private hospital)
In response to that, they tested everyone whoâd been near the hospital and totally locked down the region for a few weeks. They appear to have that outbreak under control now.
FL has taken steps to reduce the reported death count
What? A Republican swayed by objective facts? Itâs unpossible !
And itâs not a pandemic, just 1.2 million unrelated single cases.
I guess Gengar swag is worth risking the lives of others for
I donât think Denmark is much ahead of Norway in opening up. I think it will be done carefully. The caricature of Anders Tegnell is pretty funny. I doubt, when he decided to pursue a career in statistics, that he expected to become a public figure part of the international political conversation.
The jury will be out on the Swedish approach for a long time.
Really really need a or or button, rather than just âlike.â I canât âlikeâ that. Just got a call from my sister that my nephew had come out as bisexual (we had thought he was gay for some time, butâŠ) and that her husband was dealing with this very poorly. Enforced âquality time,â I guess? FuckâŠ
