And did… did he graduate?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool to live in a house that’s totally specific to you, but that’s not what architecture is. If someone on my architecture course had presented this in a crit, they would almost certainly have ended up as a smoking crater.

Just Wow. I live near Hillsborough’s “Flintstone House” and this Bubble House is just leaps and bounds cooler. And it overlooks a river, instead of a freeway.

There’s a certain 70’s Soviet Playground vibe to it - sort of playful and depressing at the same time

Did I see a window/door closed up with a sheet of plywood? Not how I’d have done that in a video where I was trying to sell a place.

[Asking as a non-architect,] what are the major points on which the person would have been criticized for?

The Millennium Falcon would look right at home in this driveway…

Looks like it’s already been assimilated into the house!

That place has got to be a maintenance nightmare. I’d still live in it, though. Way too cool not to.

Waaaaaaayyyy too close to the neighbors and WAY overstuffed to the gills with loads of useless crap.

It even has a window that looks like the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon! It doesn’t get any cooler than that.

Are you referring to the 2nd floor window in the upper right in the closing scene? I believe that’s not plywood but rather a wooden Venetian blind. You can see it from inside when the owner/ builder speaks from his desk.

EDIT: My bad, that’s “suburban median” for the area, not this particular house’s price. I would guess this will go for a premium over the $575,000.

The house itself is really cool, though. I absolutely love it. A little science fiction, a little hobbit, a whole lot of weird and interesting.

It’s for sale by “Expression of Interest”, which apparently is Australian for “I won’t tell you what I want, but if you make me an offer I’ll tell you if it’s good enough”.

Here’s the real estate agent’s listing page for it: https://www.actionrealty.com.au/listing/22348643-79-elanora-way-karalee-qld-4306/

I don’t love the current furniture but dang this place is amazing. Style for miles.

Given that this is in Australia, I wonder how this house compares to a traditional house for cooling and ventilation.
