Discovery for a libel case that hinges on the veracity of online accounts is basically an open market for both sides to start demanding documents regarding who was using sugardaddysmeetupdotcom or whatever the site is.

Do you think so? I don’t care what it is that got him out of office, I’m just glad he’s gone, but I’ve seen mentioned a few times by a few people that the “face fucking his cousin” video had an impact, but idk. IME, there’s a whole part of this toxic masculinity cult that thrive on shoving their genitals into the faces of “lesser” or “beta” males.
I’m not arguing, I guess I’m just curious what part of the electorate decided that was the step too far for Cawthorn.

In the end it likely translates somewhere around the usual 27% figure. The points at which they turn on a politician will always seem arbitrary and stupid to us, but the old buzzards who fund this PAC know them well enough that they make sure to get kompromat (especially visual evidence) that will get a critical amount of them to one of those points.

At least one of the source’s claims can already be disproven. In the text message log, the source provided the PAC with a picture of what’s described as a picture of Boebert, wearing a short white dress, sitting on a bed. The source claims the photo was taken from Boebert’s profile on a sugar-daddy website. But the woman in the picture is actually Melissa Carone, a supposed voter fraud witness cited by Rudy Giuliani, according to a Daily Mail report from 2020.

Yeah, but homophobia played a role there, which is unforgivable. Boebert has already been sexually objectified by her base - I don’t see the idea of her being more sexualized as being a problem for her.
Besides, the Xtian right will be happy to say “Yes, but this is in the past and Jebus has saved her from that life!”

And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that. Except that it’s always accompanied by a continuing demonization of, well, everyone.
And, also honestly, she’s not been saved from that life, by the standards of her own religion. It isn’t just “I don’t do that stuff anymore.” True repentance, in the Judeo-Christian tradition, requires a complete disavowal of that way of life, accompanied by at the same time a complete giving of oneself over to God. In the Evangelical tradition it’s part of a process leading to sanctification and affects every single aspect of one’s life. It’s a complete reorientation of all behaviors towards Christ-like compassion for sinner and saved alike. [The difficulty of this is why Puritans believed that very few people were actually bound for Heaven, but that “outward manifestations” were a good sign of who was. People who had completely given themselves over would be obvious.]
Anyway, she’s a fucking hypocrite, regardless of what she and her heretical followers think about salvation.
