The GOP establishment are all cowards and opportunists. If they weren’t they wouldn’t be in the position where their party has been taken over by death cultists like Cawthorn and Boebert in the first place. The cravenness is such that this PAC will never go after Biff himself, just the small fry.
Stories like this must be treated by us as unproven. Yes, it plays right into how we view GOP hypocrisy, but it’s far too on the nose and sounds too good to be true. Until there’s confirmation like we got in Cawthorne’s case, we should all remain skeptics. If/when that happens, then by all means roast her for the hypocrisy. The “do as I say, not as I do” attitude of far too many on the right, who vilify such activities and actions to please their voters while engaging in the same things they claim are so terribly they must be criminalized.
Yeah, though of course [expletive deleted] is not currently in office, and these boneheads are.
It sounds like the primary thing that they should be going after her for is the bribes to her (through her husband) from the oil company. Unless I’m mistaken, that’s just plain old bribery and she should be getting a visit from the DoJ for it.
But fun as heck to see. I honestly couldn’t give a flying crap if any of it is true. But I would love to see the reactions from Boebert and Cruz. Watching ratfuckers ratfuck each other.
It’s the Cruz connection here that has me fascinated and disgusted at the same time. Follow the money!
How would treating them as unproven differ from actions that people have taken?
Even if it’s not true, she still needs to be called out for holding retrograde and dangerous political positions.
I mean, Cawthorn did lose his primary. I’m not sure how much of that was left-leaning independents voting the R primary to get him out, but he didn’t get enough support from the qnuts to stay.
Absolutely. I just don’t see what actions people here have taken that have any difference from treating them as unproven. Have people jumped up to assert they’re absolutely true? Have they taken actions based upon that that would have the power to sanction her?
No, we just had an argument about whether or not we should focus on her hypocrisy!
And the violations of labor laws, and the violations of campaign finance laws…
That doesn’t seem to be a productive discussion.
I know… we can’t win them all…
There’s going to be confirmation. These aren’t amateur-hour clowns like Project Veritas or even dirty tricksters like Roger Stone but old-fashioned machine politicians who’ve been collecting dirty laundry on everyone who runs for the party for decades to use as leverage (e.g. Graham) or chase them out when they become liabilities (e.g. Cawthorn). That’s why the PAC is inviting her to sue them.
The escorting stuff doesn’t seem too much of a stretch. Remember, she and several other right wing activists (including Melissa Carone, and nut jobs seen at “protests”) all had accounts on ExploreTalent…
Which, to be clear, I think sex work is work and should be recognized as such and not shamed, but taking money to show up and scream at kids for wearing masks to school during a pandemic, which is what some of these ExploreTalent folks allegedly got hired to do, is fucking despicable.
Obs it was a girlbaby. No daughters in Papa Bobert’s household! Only strong sons to carry on the name.
So actual “crisis actors”. It’s never not about projection with the American right.
Every accusations is a confession or an aspiration.
“You can’t groom children! That’s our thing!”
“Democraps fantasize about killing us! Now let me detail a possible scenario in which I get to murder people I disagree with politically but we’ll call it a civil war so it’s okay…”
“They cheated in the election! But it’s perfectly fine to fill out your dead mom’s ballot for Trump.”
Yep. I’m constantly reminded of the old adage that the problem with liars is they think everyone else is lying, too. But replace “liars” with “murderous hypocrites with no moral compass.”
