These things work AMAZINGLY well. I puppy sit my kiddos dog some times, who is an Australian Shepard mix, and he has long, fluffy, whispy fur that makes giant fur bunnies on hardwood, and coats the carpets.
This is the kit I got. It has an extra tool in it.
I use the brass tool to rake the carpets and rugs - and it works amazingly well.
The silicone tool is good for the car and couch - a little more gentler on the upholstery.

Just don’t use it on the dog or cat! Works very well on most fabric surfaces.
